Camp Venture is a ministry of the Salvation Army Wellington Street Church providing safe and exciting camping experiences while promoting Christian values.
Camp Venture and its staff exist to spread the gospel through a fun-filled nature experience.
Camp Venture is Administered from the church office at Wellington Street however, the Alleyne School served as the home for Camp Venture 2005. Situated in the beautiful parish of St. Andrew, this location offered us a serene atmosphere ideal for residential (overnight) camping.
Our aim is to bring a new perspective to summer camping in Barbados. In doing so we seek to:
Build an awareness of God and the environment.
Nurture the appreciation of the beauty of Barbados as Gods' paradise.
Inspire creativity and team work.
THE SALVATION ARMY BARBADOS
The
Salvation Army has been in existence in Barbados since 1898. It is a
worldwide evangelical Christian church, human service agency, and non-profit
corporation. Its message is based on the Bible, its ministry is motivated by
the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to
meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Founded in 1865, the
Salvation Army is now active in in 107 countries, offering
assistance wherever and whenever needed. The Salvation Army has 11 Corps
(churches) in Barbados from Josey Hill in St. Lucy to Long Bay St. Phillip.
